After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.

Nowadays opening becomes to be a main tendency of city parks´ development. This article studied the definition of edge space of city park and analyzed the relationship between the edge space and the place inside and outside the park. It summed up the characteristics of this new kind of space as below: transitional, stratified, fuzzy and multiform. By investigating several actual cases and our practices, this article brought forward the main points of open city park´s edge space design from five aspects: traffic organization, functional area division, vision control, commercial development and facilities´ setting. It was supposed to benefit design and practice works of city parks in china.
