Study on educational mode of Linux majors in colleges

Along with the increasing concern on the safety of operating system, Linux has become popular in the domestic market with its security and efficiency. However, the lack of Linux talented persons has restricted Linux development. The paper mainly introduces the current demand of Linux talents, elaborates the present situation of Linux education, analyzes the problems and proposes the plan for such education. Based on the educational mode of colleges and the characteristics of the market demand for Linux professionals, the paper proposes the classification of the ability of Linux professionals into four grades, and the different educational curricula in detail for professionals at different levels. Finally, some achievements of Linux major education and relevant educational reform in Zhejiang Province are analyzed.
