Abstract :
Systems analysis possesses mature theories and methods. The concepts, models and methods are introduced into the study of the protocol test. The transfer function of the protocol is defined. The system model of the protocol and the protocol stack are presented. The features and abilities of the test methods are analyzed with this approach. The test suite is designed and organized accordingly. All of these concepts give a clearer perception of the protocol and the protocol test, especially the test requirements, which directs and helps the protocol test. This approach is put into practice, and the conformance test of the PPP protocol is presented as an application example.
