Abstract :
The spectrum of locomotive conducted emissions is largely influenced by the electric behaviour of the supply network and by the interaction between the supply network itself and the locomotive on-board apparatus. The main sources of variations of the impedance at the locomotive pantograph are considered: the influence of frequency on the value of the electrical per-unit-length parameters, the number of tracks and the locomotive position. Reference impedance curves are computed and then synthesised in an artificial traction line network (ATLN). Some practical aspects of the ATLN are considered for the realisation of the test fixture and its use for the measurement of locomotive conducted emissions performed at a test bench in the workshop. DC electrical traction systems are considered in this paper; the parameters of the Italian system are taken as reference.
