Abstract
The input impedance and the radiation pattern of a monopole antenna in the presence of a hemispherical conductor are studied theoretically and experimentally. The explicit form of the electric field Green´s function of the antenna is presented. The monopole´s current is solved using the moment method from which the input impedance and the radiation pattern are obtained. It is found that the input impedance and the radiation pattern are affected by the metal hemisphere significantly.
