Abstract
An adaptive diversity receiver which creates various beams in order to mitigate multipath fading is proposed. Measurements demonstrate the efficiency of the adaptive algorithm. Furthermore, the effect of response time, number of phase shifts and speed of the mobile handset is incorporated in two deterministic indoor propagation models. Simulations show that under normal circumstances a diversity gain of 9 dB is feasible with the proposed adaptive receiver.
