Abstract
This paper presents basic principles of the error correction in measurement of the effective resolution. A method proposed here is most valuable for analog-to-digital converters of high precision (in the sense of small differential nonlinearity) but low resolution. The method consists of derivation of improved estimators of standard deviations for use in calculation of the effective resolution
