  • Abstract
The exorbitant gaseous carbon dioxide (CO2) content does cause hazard to the environment, animals, plants and human health. This paper explores the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) combined with carbon dioxide gas sensor for testing the content of carbon dioxide gas in environment. This system can be applied to the forest, mine, green house and indoor environment whose circumstances are unattended. A hierarchical monitoring system is presented, including system architecture, hardware/software design, information flow and data analysis. This system is capable of monitoring carbon dioxide gas content, which orientates the future research of environmental monitoring.
