Abstract :
A microstrip mesh array antenna (MAA) working at 60 GHz is designed on Rogers5880 of 10% free space wavelength thickness with 2.2 dielectric constant and 0.0009 loss tangent. The short side of the MAA equals 0.473¿0, where ¿0 is the free space wavelength of 60 GHz, and the long side equals 0.668¿0. The MAA is fed by a coaxial cable near its center point through the ground plane. An impedance bandwidth of 32% is obtained with 14.5 dBi gain at 60 GHz. Narrow beam with low side lobes can be seen from HFSS simulation.
