  • Abstract
Summary form only given. The SBS hypersound diffraction effect is well known for single-mode fibers and recently was reported for multimode fibers. In the latter case, the effect is especially well seen in the experiments with selective excitation of individual groups of light modes in the multimode fiber. In particular, because of very short transverse period of the hypersound grating generated for the resonance interaction of high order fiber modes the diffraction decay length of the grating is much shorter than photon free wavelength. Here we report on a number of additional specific features of the effects related to phase conjugate component generation by SBS in optical fibers
