  • Abstract
    In this paper, we report on polarization-insensitive four wave mixing (FWM) wavelength conversion in a WDM optical fibre network using a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA), with conversion range of 6.4 nm downshift to 4.8 nm upshift. The experimental setup is shown. The 1.55 μm SOA is polarization-insensitive with a bulk InGaAsP active region, 26 dB small-signal gain, and a saturation output power of 11 dBm
