Abstract
This paper discusses the improvement in network performance achieved by the use of multiple DC power systems to power modern communications equipment. It outlines the various factors involved, compares 3 types of distribution topologies and their operation under various conditions. It concludes that the use of dual power systems is a cost effective method for a substantial improvement in performance
