Abstract :
This paper presents the vector control of a 3 phase induction motor drive system supplied by photovoltaic (PV) arrays using a current control voltage source inverter (CC-VSI) to control the motor drive system by control of both the torque (Iqs) and flux (Ids) producing components of the motor current, related to the current (Ipv) and voltage (Vpv) values of the photovoltaic arrays at the maximum power point which varies following different levels of insolation. The process control uses a single digital signal processing chip, ADMC331. The proposed system is used for a water pump with square load, shows the capacity of water pump, and directly relates the motor´s speed changes, which are varied with the maximum photovoltaic power value at each insolation.
