Abstract
The treatment and reclamation of ammonium chloride wastewater by reverse osmosis technique in the rare earth industry was investigated. The concentration of ammonium chloride in the wastewater can be concentrated to 9.0% by reverse osmosis technique, and the permeate water can be desalted to less than 20mg/L by the second pass reverse osmosis, so that the permeate water can be reused for production. The energy consumption of the wastewater treatment is about 6.0 kWh/m3 by using the technique. The technique has the advantages of simple process and low operating costs, provide a new efficient technique for treatment and reclamation of ammonium chloride wastewater in the rare earth industry.
