Abstract
Recently, many of the cable TV and telecom network operators are upgrading or building their broadband networks for delivery of hybrid multichannel broadcast analog video and interactive quadrature-amplitude-modulation (QAM) digital video/data channels. Hybrid AM/QAM video lightwave trunking systems are needed to economically link the master cable headend to the secondary headends in a large metropolitan area. In this paper, we review the performance of hybrid AM/QAM video trunking lightwave systems with cascaded in-line EDFAs
