Abstract :
Random numbers with long period and good statistical properties are often required for large-scale computer simulations. A combined generator based on two PMLCGs with different types of modulus is proposed and studied. In empirical statistical tests, the combined generator performs better than every simple PMLCG in respect of period length, uniformity and independence.
