    One of the key elements in a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) direct detection system is a wavelength-tunable filter or receiver capable of detecting a desired channel from incoming data streams. Grating-assisted codirectional coupler (GACC) based devices have attracted great attention due to its wide and fast tunability.
