Abstract
Small base stations are more and more used as a convenient way to expand or reinforce cellular network coverage in targeted areas. Their size and conditions of installation present to their power supply system specific requirements that distinguish them from the “regular” base stations. The paper examines these requirements and discusses the basic design and features options, as well as their impact on the small base stations´ power supply system. A practical design study case enlightens the discussion
