Abstract
An artificial intelligence (AI)-based fault-isolation system (FIS) is discussed. It was developed primarily for use with large-scale analog hybrid electronic systems such as radar and sonar systems, but it is applicable at least in principle to any human-engineered system with discrete replaceable components. An overview of the system and a description of some of its current application areas are given. A brief overview of the architecture of the FIS system is also given
