  • Abstract
    An AC-DC-DC power converter with a single power-conversion stage and reduced input current distortion is presented. The input section is a resonant boost input stage and the output section is a DC-DC converter with ZVS soft switching. A high-frequency current source which controls the power flow in the input stage also provides the commutation energy for ZVS in the DC-DC converter. The switching frequency of the converter and the duty cycle of the DC-DC converter are independently controlled to obtain power balance between the two stages. The operation of the circuit is explained and simulated and experimental waveforms are presented
