Abstract
The analysis and design of the detection filter using spectral theory is generalized. First, instead of assuming the fault directions are one-dimensional, they can be multiple- dimensional. Furthermore, instead of assuming the eigenvalues of the detection filter are real and distinct, they can be complex or real or even repeated. Finally, the associated algorithm for the detection filter design is derived.
