Abstract
The correlation between perfusion pattern and fractional shortening (FS) measured by EGG-gated SESTAMIBI (Cardio-Spect) scintigraphy was investigated in 20 pts. FS was determined in LAO 45 projection by calculating the systolic moving of peak counts along the long and the short axes divided by the particular diastolic diameter (in pixels). The FS of segments with fix defect was significantly lower than the FS in the segments with reversible defect (p<0, 01). In 5 pts during the dobutamine infusion at a dose 10 /spl mu/g/min, the normal segments increased their FS significantly, while the defect segments did not change in average, but certain segments increased their FS to a value characteristic of viable region.
