Abstract
In this paper, we describe the use of thesauri and neural networks for the classification of lexically similar natural language documents. We discuss the effect of extending the usual keyword representation of documents to a weighted, thesaurally-based, representation using relations among keywords. We present some experimental results obtained from a neural network prototype that uses Kohonen´s self-organizing map paradigm
