  • Abstract
Two problems are met when aluminum cable is connected to copper terminal of electrical apparatus: to make a reliable contact of aluminum lug with copper terminal and to make a reliable contact of aluminum cable with aluminum lug. The solution of the first problem is to use a lug made of Al-Mg-Si alloy, which has a low contact creep and friable surface films. The reliable contact of a lug and a cable may be produced by welding. The suitable design of a lug has been developed for welding.
