Abstract
The integer frequency offset (IFO) is typically estimated in the frequency domain using a differentially encoded training sequence. This paper proposes IFO estimation method for IEEE 802.15.4g Smart Utility Networks (SUN) applications of MR-OFDM PHY. This IFO estimation method uses the transmitted pilot at each multiple of subcarrier spacing which is used to measure the fractional frequency offset (FFO). We propose low complexity method and a practical algorithm for SUN applications of MR-OFDM PHY. The performance of algorithm is validated by conducting computer simulations under the condition of multipath degradation. Simulation results show that performance of this method is similar to conventional algorithm and this method has lower complexity than conventional algorithm.
