Abstract
This paper presents a traffic information system according to wireless signal in global system for mobile (GSM) communication network. The system integration structures the independent real-time traffic information database, real-time traffic information and geographical information system (GIS) data through data fusion method. We use a prototype of a traffic information system offering advanced personalized route planning, including added services like traffic jam alerting by means of SMS (short message service). The fast changing nature of such data requires to gather it from on-line Internet sources. We focus on the existing small and low-cost GSM modules for data process by using the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) and developed a real-time software solution to help users and evaluation of user preferences for traffic information system.
