Abstract
A scheme for the detection of a delamination within a composite panel using embedded optical fiber sensors is demonstrated. A composite panel was fabricated with optical fiber sensors embedded above and below a pregenerated delamination. Ultrasonic probing of the panel shows that the ultrasonic signal was not detected by the sensor beyond the delamination, indicating the location of the delamination within the composite panel
