Abstract
A new subject has been developed at the University of Queensland, Australia, and it combines the various aspects of overvoltage protection and insulation coordination for power equipment and systems with electrical overstress protection of electronic equipment and communications and computer systems. It has been taught as a combined subject since 1992 and has been well received by both “power” and “electronics” students
