Abstract :
The variable period reverberation which is caused by undulating seabed topography is the main disturbance in neritic area seismic exploration. This paper analyzes the forming course of variable period reverberation in theory, deduces the formula which is about the frequency features of variable period reverberation and discusses the frequency features of period reverberation when the cable and seismic source are at different water depth. A model for the study of features of variable period reverberation is described. The results show that the modeling results accords well with the computing results in theory. The study can play an important role in removal of reverberation from marine seismic records.
