Abstract :
In this paper we develop the theory for passivity based inventory and flow control for application to industrial, flat glass manufacture. The main stability result is derived using an extension of Tellegen´s theorem and a storage function based on Gibbs´ tangent plane criterion for phase stability. The application to flat glass manufacture shows that the process variables are stabilized and that the product yields increase.
