Abstract :
The paper describes about a device, which is a Solc-like type structure using 40 similar nematic liquid crystal (Nm-LC) plates. The tunability of the reflector in the C band is achieved by the variation of the birefringence on Nm-LC plates. From the transmittivity tailoring of the attenuator, it is noted that slight loss in the 40×1 μm LC layers has very little effect on the transmittance.
