Abstract :
The hybrid active Bragg cavity to be used for pulse compression will be constructed from a single 2D Bragg mirror joined by a smooth waveguide to a ID Bragg active output mirror. Hybrid cavities have notable advantages over cavities which are based solely on 1D or 2D structures, as it allows for tighter frequency control due to the stricter requirements that must be satisfied for interaction with a 2D mirror. In this paper, the experimental (thin line) and theoretical (bold line) data are compared. This will be combined with an active ID Bragg coaxial output mirror which can relatively easily be changed from closed to open state by changing the relative phase of the 1D Bragg corrugation.
