Abstract
The design of an assembly system is generally composed of two main steps, namely assembly planning and resource planning. The paper focuses on the first issue, which consists in generating the assembly plans of the product. A method to generate and to evaluate a set of assembly plans for a product family, using a disassembly approach is proposed. The plan evaluation is performed by a multicriteria decision-aid method (PROMETHEE). The method is applied to an industrial case study and the corresponding results are presented
