Abstract :
Lumped models are often used in nonengineering fields like biology, medicine, socio-economy or management. We need thus graphical modelling methods adapted to systems in which the notion of energy is often irrelevant. Bond graphs (BG) are not suitable and a kinetic method, Forrester´s system dynamics (1963) [FSD] is currently increasingly used in these applications. However, FSD may often produce very messy models. We present thus a new method generalising ideas from BG and FSD in a kinetic framework and providing simple and intuitive models
