Abstract
In this paper we describe a method for calculating the electromagnetic fields associated with an emitter located within a periodically corrugated cavity. We specifically consider the case of an electric dipole source and calculate the radiation pattern of the emission produced by such a source from within a corrugated layered structure. We will compare the results of our model with experimental results, so as to establish the validity of the model. This represents the first stage in establishing an important design optimisation tool.
