Abstract :
With the rapid growth of networked multimedia data systems, copyright protection of proprietary multimedia work has gained importance. Typical watermarking techniques are actually "blind" with respect to document content. However, a reference to content offers several advantages. Thus the procedures themselves can be arranged better and safer, if the contents constituent provides better possibilities. As an example one can employ textured regions in images, for which stronger manipulations are fewer noticeable. Based on previous approaches to texture detection, a general framework for content-based image watermarking is proposed, without the need to adapt the watermarking algorithm itself to the special image content. The approach is exemplified by means of the hidden projection watermarking method.
