  • Abstract
    In comparison to progress of semiconductor technology, battery technology has not progressed rapidly; power efficiency has become increasingly important in wireless networking, in addition to the traditional quality and performance measures, such as bandwidth, throughput and fairness. Energy consumption and routing is the most challenging and demanding challenging issue in designing routing protocol for wireless sensor network (WSNs). Initially we present a brief details energy efficient approaches for cross layer design. This paper focus on drawing benefits from interaction of physical, MAC and routing layers by defining a new cross layer scheme CLB(Cost Link Based) for routing. Simulation and results shows that CLB is energy efficient routing.
