Abstract :
A good packet loss recovery algorithm for PCM coded speech is described in this paper. The algorithm gets the excitation signal from the past packet by linear prediction and considers the trend of the excitation to recover the lost packet. By applying the algorithm to the G.711 μ-law coder, the new algorithm is superior to other algorithms in subjective quality tests.
