Summary form only given. The Southern California Coalition for Education in Manufacturing Engineering (SCCEME) is a coalition of six major California universities which was formed in 1993 and is now one of only eight National Science Foundation Engineering Centers nationwide. The mission of SCCEME is to develop a comprehensive system of inter-university programs of undergraduate manufacturing engineering education. The Coalition focuses on the long-term systematic reform of manufacturing engineering education across the curricular enhancing exiting manufacturing-related programs, creating new degree programs and degree options related to manufacturing that emphasize integrated product and process development, and providing training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of the manufacturing workforce
