Abstract
Optical transmission techniques have been researched for a couple of decades over the past dozen of years or so. A number of algorithms have been proposed, developed and implemented in optical networks. Existing research has proved that effective routing wave-length assignment schemes has improved the efficiency of the networks by reducing the blocking performance of optical networks. This paper proposes a novel method for designing an efficient and a minimal-marginal routing algorithm that offers a promise of the significant improvement over the existing methods developed so far.
