Abstract :
In this paper we describe the development of microchip Yb-Er glass microchip lasers passively Q-switched by Co2+:MgAl2O4 saturable absorbers. Pulse trains with a frequency of 0.5-70 kHz have been achieved. We have also investigated the lasing spectra of the lasers.
