Abstract :
Transmission power control of mobile stations and base stations is very vital for the capacity and performance of cellular communication systems. Near-far problem is critical and needs to be mitigated at any cost. The basic idea behind the power control is to adjust the transmission powers in such a way that interference power from each transmitter to other users is minimized while preserving the sufficient quality of service QoS. Co-channel interference management is critical for CDMA based communication systems because of unity frequency reuse factor. In CDMA cellular systems interference occurs both within the cell and from outside the cell, hence CDMA systems are interference limited. In this paper we discuss the channel prediction using the weighted least square error WLSE algorithm for DS-CDMA channel described by Rayleigh fading.
