Abstract

In view of the problems presently existing in the conventional management of mineral resources, a GIS based mineral resource management information system is proposed. The system is designed and implemented based on the technologies of geographic information systems, database, software engineering principles and secondary development. This system provides a modern scientific management and decision-making tool to the mineral resource management. The system requirements, overall design, function design and database building are described in detail.
