Abstract
A digital mobile radio channel simulator is presented. It is based on Fritchman´s model (1967) with the parameter values as estimated using the gradient approximation technique. Fritchman´s error generation model can be simulated by setting the simulator´s parameters to the computed values; realistic error sequences can thus be generated. The implementation of the error sequences generator is straightforward and can be used to evaluate the performances of error correction and detection strategies for digital communication channels corrupted by error bursts.<>
