Abstract :
We investigate the dynamics of current driven polarisation switching in VCSELs, taking stochastic effects into account. From a physical point of view, such a study allows to gain insight in the physical mechanism behind polarisation switching. Moreover, it is also of practical importance if one wishes to exploit the VCSEL´s polarisation properties for applications where controlled PS is required.
