Experiences from the pilot operation and commissioning phase of a SCM process improvement program

Piloting of new practices and taking them into successful large-scale use within an organisation are challenging tasks in software process improvement programs. This paper describes an approach to piloting Software Configuration Management (SCM) practices within an industrial organisation. In this case, the SCM improvement program based on Pr²imer, Practical Process Improvement for Embedded Real-time Software, which is a framework for software process improvement developed by VTT Electronics.
