Abstract :
Communication standards are required to provide interoperability of intelligent electronic devices (IEDs ) in substation automation systems. They influence the integration of protection and control, the engineering tools, and the architecture of the IED hard- and software. A product and system strategy for providing the existing and future communication standards is demonstrated
