Network computing

After ennumerating the main issues, trends and facts in the recent developments in the marriage between computing and networking the authors briefly summarize the articles to be presented in the Special Sessions on Network Computing. These sessions are the continuation of last year´s Network Computing Workshop at the annual Euromicro Conference, which provide only a modest contribution to the main trends.
