Abstract :
In this paper, an inverted-F antenna with dual-band operations for 2.4/5 GHz WLAN applications in laptop computers is presented. This antenna is composed of a radiating strip, a feed and two meandered shorting strips, which are fabricated on a 0.4 mm thick FR4 substrate and occupy an area of only 3 × 35 mm2. Gain, pattern and efficiency of the antenna are measured in a spherical near-field antenna measurement anechoic chamber. Good performances are obtained. The proposed antenna can be embedded inside the laptop computer for dual-band WLAN systems.
