  • Abstract
The most notable innovation related biofeedback computer software is that they can provide effective training without teacher supervision. Comparison the impact of usual practice and practice combined with biofeedback technology (BFB) in 51 students-musicians were investigated. Usual practice enhances the psychometric indices of tension, increased integrated EMG power (IEMG) and decreased individual EEC alpha-activity in most students. The self estimations for psychomotor skill performance did not change or decreased after usual practice. On contrary, practice combined with alpha increasing and EMG decreasing biofeedback (alpha EEG/EMG BFB), in all examinees was accompanied by decrease in anxiety, increase in individual alpha band indices and decrease in IEMG. The musical performances score improved. The efficiency of alpha EEG/EMG BFB and psychomotor training depends on the initial values of individual alpha EEG-spectral indices. Results revealed that biofeedback computer software is effective technology for improving psychomotor performance in musicians.
